DG Cream Tripoli Powder

A very fine natural abrasive powder which contains no metallic particles and is insoluble in water. Also known as Rottenstone.

This fine Tripoli powder is used to remove blemishes and minor imperfections on a multitude of finishes, including wood, metal, plastic and ceramics. During the rubbing process the grains of powder break down, becoming more rounded and less abrasive, and begin polishing the surface.  

To use: Sprinkle some powder on the piece to be polished and use a cloth dipped in linseed oil (or similar), or dip the rag into the powder for a more precise application. Tripoli powder may also be mixed with wax and resins to make a buffing wax.
