Artisan Wood Dye - 100ml
Water Based Acrylic
Mix colours to create new colours
Suitable for use on hard and soft wood.
From bold statement colours to soft chalk shades, Bolgers Artisan range has something for everyone.
Made using a quick drying acrylic formula Bolgers Artisan Wood Dye is perfect for woodturning, craft projects and adding individuality to all bare wood surfaces around the home. The solvent free formula penetrates the wood fibres to enhance the wood grain, and can be sealed with wax, wood oil and varnish.
With a high concentration of pigments amazing colours are achieved with just one coat, and also allows the stain to be used as a tint in water based products, like varnish, paint and PVA glue. Wash brushes in water.
How to: Apply to bare wood sanded to an even finish with the grain using a fine grade paper. For best grain definition apply sparingly with a lint free cloth. A second or third coat can be applied immediately to reach the desired depth of colour. Dye may also be applied with a brush or foam applicator - remove surplus with a lint free cloth. The heavier the application, and the longer the dye is left before wiping off, the less grain definition will be visible.
NB: Colours in the image were applied to pine and different woods will give different results; always carry out a test sample. When used as a tint colours will be paler and may even appear a different colour. Screen resolution of your viewing device may affect how the colours are displayed and images are a guide only.
Coverage: Approximately 1 - 2 m sq. per 100ml in a single coat, depending on application method and absorbency of the wood.
